Membership FAQs
How do I join the CTCA?
On the Join Now page, you can find some initial information, and our Application Process page lays out the steps you must take to join. First, you must read the necessary policies and rules all our members are required to know and meet. Secondly, you must notify any sponsors you have of your intent to apply for membership. They will need to submit their own information after you've applied. Finally, fill out the membership application form and pay for your membership.
If you encounter any issues or questions during your application, please contact us and we would be glad to help you.
Can I join as a member without being a breeder, judge, or show competitor?
Yes, we have multiple tiers of membership for the different people interested in our Club. You still must meet the standards of our application process, but we do accept people who do not show Cairn Terriers or have another official role in the breed.
What are my responsibilities as a member of the CTCA?
While you can read our full membership requirements on our Join Now page, the primary requirements of a member of the CTCA include:
- Volunteer or be involved in Club activities
- Support Cairn Terrier health studies
- Act and speak with good sportsmanship in all Club activities
- Adhering to the Constitution and Bylaws of the CTCA
How do I learn more about the Cairn Terrier and your club so I can join in the future?
We offer resources about the history of the breed, Cairn Terrier breed characteristics, health and care information for owners, additional articles written by members of our Club, and purchasable material about the breed. We welcome all owners of the Cairn Terrier to educate themselves so they can live a happier life with their Cairn.
If you are a member, you can also meet other members of the CTCA and learn from those more experienced in ownership and showing the breed.
